Prepaid checks

"I had a debt recovery company call me. They wanted me to send them predated checks for three months. I it legal to write a predated check? The debt recovery company is not in my state."

Laws differ from state to state. I don't believe that it is appropriate to sign pre-dated checks. You might be able to arrange for an automatic periodic payment out of a bank account of yours, or an automatic billing to a credit card of yours which you then could pay. You really should consult a general practice attorney in your state with experience with consumer credit issues.
